What to do in Ibiza in 3 days: the complete itinerary

Three days in Ibiza is plenty of time to hit the highlights without feeling rushed: a historic old town, postcard-perfect coves, a legendary sunset and, if you fancy it, a proper night out. Here is a realistic itinerary to make the most of every one of them.

Day 1: Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila

Save your first day for Ibiza Town. Start the morning with a stroll around the harbour and the Marina district, then head up to Dalt Vila — the UNESCO World Heritage walled citadel, with its Renaissance ramparts, cathedral and sweeping sea views. Have lunch in the centre and spend the afternoon wandering the narrow streets and boutiques. It is a great way to get a feel for the island without needing a car; everything is within easy walking distance.

Day 2: coves and sunset

Day two is all about the beach. Pick one or two coves depending on the wind: Cala Comte and Cala Bassa on the west coast, or Cala d'Hort for views of Es Vedrà. Bring water and arrive early to get a parking spot. Round off the day with a sunset: the Sunset Strip in San Antonio if you want a lively atmosphere, or a quiet cove if you prefer something more intimate. Stay in the area for dinner.

Day 3: north, sea or nightlife

Let day three unfold at your own pace: explore the more authentic north of the island (Santa Gertrudis, Sant Joan, Benirràs beach), join a boat trip, or make an early start and hop over to Formentera. If the Ibiza nightlife scene is on your list, save some energy for a club. To nail the timings, check tide and weather conditions, or sort out bookings on the fly, ask IbizaGPT and tweak the plan as you go.

Frequently asked questions

Is 3 days enough to see Ibiza?

Yes, it covers the essentials: Dalt Vila, a couple of coves, a sunset and, if you want, a night out. For Formentera at a leisurely pace, you would need an extra day.

Do you need a car for 3 days in Ibiza?

It helps, but it is not essential — with the bus network, taxis, the Discobús and boat services, you can follow this itinerary without renting a car.
